Traditional Vs. Non-Traditional ReikiTraditional Reiki is taught by those who continue in the direct linage of Master Takata, where Non-traditional Reiki is taught by those who have been given the gift of Reiki through Masters who are not from the Usui lineage. Traditional and Non-traditional Reiki In the last few years Reiki has been expanding at an astronomical rate. Dr. Usui, Dr. Hayashi and Mrs. Takato each trained thirteen to twenty Masters, and to date there are thousands of Masters, trained in the traditional and the non-traditional Reiki systems. They both teach the same things and have the equal power. have been trained in both traditional and non-traditional methods and I can attest that they indeed have equal power. My master Melodie Matice was taught traditional Reiki and is a 4th level making me a 5th level in the traditional Reiki system. If you continue with this reading you would be in the sixth level in the Usui lineage. A few stories passed down to me that bring the true essence of Reiki makes me certain that traditiona or non-traditional reiki really doesn't matter it's the results, just as in these stories... Brian was a nurse who was not able to afford the cost of $10,000 to become a Reiki Master. He had recieved his first two degrees and was using this gift while working at a nursing home. One particular patient was an elderly woman for whom he had cared for three year. Brian was present when she made her transistion. At the time of her passing, an angel appeared to him. This angel attuned him to his Reiki Master energy and told him that the lady's name was Liberty and that he should go out and teach Reiki to those who are ready at a reasonable cost. He lovingly called it Liberty Reiki. The second story was about a lady in Texas who had her second degree in Reiki. During a meditation the Master symbols appeared to her. Upon sharing these these symbols with other Reiki Masters, she realized that she had been given the Master symbols through her Highe-self. Reiki is coming to us through many beautiful forms. I believe that this is so we can render the service needed to raise the planetary vibration at this time. I am grateful to be part of this cosmic time period and to have been chosen to serve in this way. The sharing of Reiki means more to me than I could have ever imagined. REMEMBER we do not have a formal lineage to show but the Reiki you posse is real and is powerful gift you can use to help yourself and others. You can prove this simply by your use of it. A change in the planetary consciousness has allowed the gift of Reiki to come through in ways other than being passed down from Master to another. I could use myself as a perfect example of this change. I had a dream of a man teaching me how to heal others and in this dream, he gave me the word Reiki, which I had never heard of before in my life.
