The Reiki Principles
The reiki principles are the heart of Reiki and the only real mastery is self-mastery. The real intent of them was to bring about enlightenment, peaceful living, kindness towards all, calm in your mind, and in your life. They embody compassionate living and Karuna (compassion towards all beings)and Metta (loving kindness to all), humility, gratitude, non-anger, non-worry, and kindness. In healing ourselves, living the reiki principles, we find true mastery. Not mastery of Reiki, but mastery of ourselves.Anger, worry, rudeness, and other ego based behaviors and feelings make it hard to connect and be with this Universal source of love, light and harmony. They also keep one asleep, unaware of the greater spiritual purpose and awakening.
The Usui Reiki System was an enlightenment system, which allowed you to heal yourself and others. It was designed to connect you to synchronize your energy with the Universal Source of Love, Light, and Harmony, until you realized that you are and always were it. The system is a healing method of transcending. It should be added here, that there are very few who teach Reiki in this manner, that in the west most teach it only as a healing system, and even more that teach it as a business. The 5 Reiki Principle's were to be said in the morning and at night, with the hands held in the prayer position. They also were meant to be said before any meditation. Keeping them on your mind all during the day. When you integrate the 5 reiki principle's into your life and being, you will find that they will be there when you begin to anger, worry, or are unkind to others. What you are doing is conditioning yourself and healing at the same time. These 5 P's if studied, meditated on and focused throughout the day with, will bring an awareness of where you need healing and can produce healing with ease. It is said what you focus on is what you get, so focusing on the 5 P's will not only heal you, but also bring about a more peaceful life. Usui taught to say the 5 P's daily, morning and night and before treating your self and others. They encourage mindfulness that is staying in the moment that is paying attention to these conditions. Reminding you that your focus is your reality. Where awareness is, there you are.

I will ask you even if you are not a Reiki Practitioner you can find your live enhanced just by following them. So let's move on in our lessons moving from reiki principles next to traditional reiki vs. non-traditional. You will find that an open mind will give you lots of tools to bring about peace.
